Terms of Use
Effective: 16 April 2026
These Terms of Use (the "Terms") govern your access to and use of the PitStop Data API and the pitstopdata.com website (together, the "Service"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. The Service
PitStop Data provides a programmatic, read-only HTTP API that returns Formula 1 data — including lap times, sector splits, pit stop data, tire compounds, session results, championship standings, and related metadata — compiled from independent, community-driven sources and cross-verified.
PitStop Data is an independent project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the Formula 1 companies, the FIA, or any Formula 1 team.
2. Access and Accounts
Access to the API is distributed through the RapidAPI marketplace. To use the Service you must register for a RapidAPI account and subscribe to a PitStop Data plan on RapidAPI. Authentication, subscription management, and billing are handled entirely by RapidAPI under RapidAPI's own terms, which are incorporated here by reference for the access layer.
You are responsible for keeping your API key confidential and for all activity that occurs under your key.
3. Subscription, Fees, and Limits
Available plans, pricing, and per-plan request limits are listed at pitstopdata.com/#pricing and at the RapidAPI listing. All limits are enforced as hard limits: once exceeded, the API returns an HTTP 429 response until the quota resets. There are no overage charges.
Billing is performed by RapidAPI. We do not collect, store, or process payment information. Refunds, chargebacks, and plan changes are governed by RapidAPI's policies.
4. Acceptable Use
You may use the Service only in a manner consistent with these Terms and applicable law. You agree not to:
- circumvent, disable, or attempt to defeat any rate limit, access control, or security measure;
- share, resell, or sublicense your API key, or use a single key to serve multiple unrelated applications;
- use the Service to build a product whose primary purpose is to redistribute bulk PitStop Data responses as-is to third parties (derivative analytical products are allowed);
- use the Service in a way that disrupts, damages, or degrades its availability for other users;
- scrape, mirror, or otherwise copy the pitstopdata.com website beyond normal browsing;
- use the Service to violate any law, infringe any third-party right, or promote hateful, harassing, or illegal content.
Paid tiers include rights to use the data in commercial applications (apps, dashboards, analytics products, fantasy and betting tools) subject to the rest of these Terms and to applicable Formula 1 trademark rights (see Section 7).
5. Data Accuracy
We compile and cross-check data from multiple independent sources and apply automated and manual curation. Despite our efforts, the Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not warrant that the data is complete, accurate, timely, or fit for any particular purpose. You must not rely on the Service for decisions where an error or delay could cause loss of life, serious injury, or significant financial harm (for example, real-time safety-critical systems or regulated financial instruments).
6. Intellectual Property
The pitstopdata.com website, its design, code, documentation, and original content we produce are owned by PitStop Data and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. The arrangement, selection, and curation of the data returned by the API is likewise protected.
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a worldwide, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access the API and to use the data returned by it in your own applications for the duration of your active subscription.
7. Third-Party Trademarks
F1, FORMULA ONE, FORMULA 1, FIA FORMULA ONE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP, GRAND PRIX, and related marks are trade marks of Formula One Licensing B.V. Team names, driver names, circuit names, and related identifiers are the trademarks of their respective owners. PitStop Data makes no claim of ownership over any such marks, and their presence in API responses is purely descriptive. You are responsible for your own compliance with third-party trademark rights when you display or use this data.
8. Service Availability
We target 99.9% monthly uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may perform maintenance, impose temporary rate limits, or block individual keys without prior notice where necessary to protect the Service.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including without limitation warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, and availability.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, in no event will PitStop Data, its operators, or its suppliers be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenues, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service. Our aggregate liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid for the Service in the twelve months preceding the claim, or (b) USD 50.
11. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless PitStop Data and its operators from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or connected with your use of the Service, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.
12. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access at any time, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms, if your use risks harm to the Service or to other users, or if we are required to do so by law. You may stop using the Service at any time by cancelling your subscription through RapidAPI. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 5, 6, 9, 10, 11, and 14) will survive.
13. Changes to the Service or Terms
We may modify the Service (including endpoints, rate limits, and data coverage) at any time. We may also update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes we will update the Effective date at the top of this page and, where practical, announce the change on pitstopdata.com. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
14. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Ukraine, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. The parties agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in Ukraine for any dispute arising out of or in connection with the Service, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in any jurisdiction to protect its intellectual property rights. Nothing in these Terms limits any consumer protection or mandatory local-law rights you may have in your country of residence.
15. Miscellaneous
If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect. Our failure to enforce any right or provision is not a waiver of that right. These Terms, together with the RapidAPI terms applicable to your subscription and our Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us with respect to the Service.
